The publication titled ‘Anura Bandaranaike – Legacy in the Legislature 1977-2008’ consists of key speeches he made in his varying capacities in the legislature over three decades. Categorised to reflect his speeches on Foreign Affairs, Constitutional Amendments, Special Bills and Ministry Votes, Parliamentary Affairs as well the several Votes of Condolence that he spoke at during his career, the publication also includes speeches made by his Parliamentary colleagues at the time a Vote of Condolence was moved upon his passing way. Dr Harinda Vidanage, Director of the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies handed over first copies to the former National Defence Advisor of India, Ambassador Shivshankar Menon, the Chairperson of the S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation (BNMF), President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, Ms Sunethra Bandaranaike, the Director/Chief Executive of the BNMF, Mr Sunil Dissanayake and the Senior Consultant of the BCIS, Dr Mrs Malika Karunaratne. George I. H. Cooke, Editor of the publication and Deputy Director of the BCIS presented a copy of the publication to the Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, Speaker of Parliament on 24th September 2019. The publication, issued to mark his 70th birth anniversary, is a reminder of the man, a recollection of his erudition and a reflection of his potential.
